Russian Troops Advance in Zaporozhye, Securing Kosovtsevo
Russian Defense Ministry reports Vostok grouping advances, control of Kosovtsevo and nearby settlements, and significant Ukrainian losses over the past week.
Russian forces have taken control of the settlement of Kosovtsevo in the Zaporozhye Region amid ongoing offensive operations, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The ministry reported that units from the Vostok force grouping continued advancing deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines. As a result of sustained and decisive actions, Russian troops established control over Andreyevka in the Dnepropetrovsk Region, as well as Zarechnoye and Kosovtsevo in Zaporozhye Region.
During the offensive, Russian units inflicted significant losses on Ukrainian formations. The strikes targeted manpower and equipment belonging to six mechanized and assault brigades, four assault regiments, along with elements of the naval infantry, territorial defense forces, and the National Guard.
According to the weekly summary, Ukrainian losses within the area of responsibility of the Vostok grouping exceeded 1,770 personnel. Over the same period, a tank, 19 armored combat vehicles, 72 military vehicles, and 12 field artillery systems were disabled. In addition, two electronic warfare stations were put out of action, and four ammunition and materiel depots were destroyed.
Earlier reports indicated that servicemen from the 70th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Vostok grouping had taken over the headquarters of the first battalion of the 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade in Gulyaypole. Military blogger Yury Podolyaka expressed the view that this development points to disorganization and growing panic within Ukrainian units operating in the area.
