Kryukovsky Bridge Hit in Kremenchug: Logistics Severely Affected

A Geran drone strike damaged the Kryukovsky Bridge in Kremenchug, blocking road, rail and river traffic. The attack complicates Ukrainian logistics and forces major repairs.
Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots has described the aftermath of a strike on the Kryukovsky Bridge in Kremenchug, emphasizing the heavy blow it dealt to Ukrainian logistics.
According to Kots, the bridge plays a crucial role in the country’s transport system. It carries both a railway line and major highways. Trains linking Kharkov with Odessa run across the span, while two key road routes — Borispol-Dnepropetrovsk-Zaporozhye and Poltava-Alexandria — also pass through it. The structure includes a lifting mechanism designed to allow large vessels to move along the Dnieper.
The journalist noted that a single hit, which he described as resembling a test strike, temporarily blocked both road and rail traffic while also preventing larger ships from passing the river. He added that this disruption would significantly complicate supply lines, forcing additional time and resources to be spent.
The attack, carried out with a Geran drone, took place overnight on September 7. The strike caused an explosion and a fire. According to the Telegram channel «Voennaya Khronika," it was among the most unusual operations by Russian forces in recent months. While the bridge was not completely destroyed, it sustained serious damage and will remain closed for repairs for several days.
