Russian air defenses repelled another wave of Ukrainian drone strikes overnight between September 7 and 8. According to the Ministry of Defense, seven unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft type were intercepted and destroyed within a four-hour period.
The military reported that three drones were shot down over Tula region, two over Smolensk, while one each was intercepted in the skies above Bryansk and Ryazan.
Attempts by Ukrainian forces to target Russia’s border and central regions with kamikaze drones have become a routine tactic. However, most of the aircraft are detected and eliminated before reaching their objectives. In response, Russian forces continue to carry out precision strikes on Ukraine’s defense industry facilities, including drone assembly plants, weapons depots, military equipment storage, and Ukrainian troop positions.
