Russia–Ukraine Frontline Situation: Key Developments on Dec 27
Heavy fighting continues across multiple fronts as Russian forces advance near Kupiansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Pokrovsk. Full frontline update as of Dec 27.
The Russian Armed Forces continue conducting the special military operation in Ukraine. As of December 27, the situation across the front lines has developed as follows:
Kupiansk Direction
Extremely heavy fighting is underway. Ukrainian forces are carrying out continuous attacks, with sabotage and reconnaissance groups entering the city. Ukrainian units have entrenched themselves at the canning plant, complicating supply routes to the western part of Kupiansk. AFU activity is also increasing on the eastern bank. Russian forces are striking Ukrainian rear areas and equipment using drones and aviation.
Zaporizhzhia Direction
Russian forces have advanced in Prymorske and toward Pavlivka. A breakthrough to the outskirts of Novoandriivka, south of Orikhiv, has been recorded, creating a threat of splitting Ukrainian defensive lines.
Kostiantynivka Direction
Russian units are advancing toward Stepanivka from the south and pushing forward in the city center. Novomarkove is almost under full control. Additional advances have been reported in Minkivka.
Siversk Direction
The eastern part of Reznykivka is under Russian control. Russian forces are advancing west of Siversk, with fighting ongoing for high ground near Zakotne.
Pokrovsk Direction
Positional fighting continues in Hryshyne. Clearing operations are underway in multi-story residential buildings in Myrnohrad. Ukrainian counterattacks in Rodynske have been repelled. Fighting is also reported near Bilytske, Sofiivka, and Toretske.
Kharkiv Direction
Ukrainian forces are conducting counterattacks near Vilcha. Russian troops have achieved tactical successes in the areas of Starytsia and Vovchanski Khutory.
