Russian Troops Report Control and Clearing Operations in Kupiansk
Russian forces say they are operating in central Kupiansk, clearing buildings and basements as the Defense Ministry reports the city under control.
Servicemen from Russia’s Western Group of Forces reported that they are currently carrying out combat tasks in the central part of Kupiansk, including operations at the Kupiansk Dairy and Canning Plant, where basements and buildings are being cleared.
In a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, a company commander from the 1427th Motorized Rifle Regiment said that his unit is operating on 1st of May Street and is holding its assigned positions.
A commander of an assault group from the 1486th Motorized Rifle Regiment reported that the situation at the Kupiansk Dairy and Canning Plant is under control. Another serviceman confirmed that his unit is performing tasks in the city center.
Meanwhile, a company commander from the 1843rd Motorized Rifle Regiment said his unit is conducting clearing operations in basement areas, explaining that Russian forces are eliminating scattered enemy groups inside buildings and underground spaces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the city of Kupiansk is currently under the control of units from the 6th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Western Group of Forces.
