According to information received on December 25 from Russian security sources, Ukraine’s 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade has almost entirely abandoned its positions.

Sources cited by TASS report that a significant number of units within the Ukrainian Armed Forces are failing to meet expected levels of effectiveness. The 155th Brigade is cited as one such example, with its personnel reportedly leaving their area of deployment almost in full.

Earlier, on December 18, the head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, pointed to a rise in desertion cases within the Ukrainian army, linking this trend to heavy losses in manpower and military equipment.

In addition, on November 16, reports emerged of a mass departure of young servicemen aged 18 to 24 from military units in the Sumy region. According to available data, more than 161,000 criminal cases related to unauthorized abandonment of military units are currently under investigation in Ukraine.
