Russian Armed Forces are continuing their special military operation in Ukraine. As of 28 December, the situation on the main fronts is as follows.

On the Sumy axis, troops of the Russian Sever grouping are engaged in fierce fighting in the area of Andreevka. Ukrainian forces are mounting constant counterattacks.

On the Kharkov axis, clashes continue near Staritsa, Liman, Volchanskiye Khutora and on the Khatnoye section of the front. Russian units are clearing forested areas near Oktyabrskoye. Heavy urban combat is under way in the Kupyansk area, where the enemy is pulling in reserves and trying to counterattack.

On the Seversk axis, Russian forces are straightening the line of contact west of Seversk. There is also noted progress west of Zakotnoye, while fighting for Ozyornoye continues.

On the Krasny Liman axis, Russian troops have improved their tactical positions north of Krasny Liman. Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups are actively operating in the city centre. Russian forces are also advancing in the areas of Boguslavka and Novoplatonovka.

On the Konstantinovka axis, Russian units are moving forward south and south-east of Konstantinovka and are engaged in combat near Minkovka.

On the Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) axis, positional fighting is ongoing north of Krasnoarmeisk. The situation of Ukrainian forces in encircled Dimitrov is deteriorating. Russian units are storming Novy Donbass and pushing towards Kucherov Yar.

On the Zaporozhye axis, fighting continues in Primorskoye, Stepnogorsk and near Lukyanovskoye.
