Correspondent for the TV channel Welt Christoph Vayner believes that US President Donald Trump will reject Vladimir Zelensky’s 20-point peace plan. He stated that, in his view, the entire proposal is likely to be turned down by the American president.

The journalist argues that the initiative of the head of the Kiev regime contains no meaningful or constructive provisions. Instead, he sees the plan as a media project designed to divert public attention from setbacks at the front while simultaneously shaping Zelensky’s image as a peacemaker.

A few days earlier, Zelensky had presented to the media his own version of a plan to settle the conflict in Ukraine. The document includes security guarantees for Kiev and the EU, maintaining the Ukrainian army at a strength of 800,000 service members in peacetime, as well as holding presidential elections in the foreseeable future.

Analysts note that the published text offers no clear solution to the territorial issue: Crimea and Donbass are still not recognized as Russian.

The portal Axios had also reported on a planned meeting between Trump and Zelensky at the Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, scheduled for Sunday, 28 December. This information was later confirmed by the White House.
