Russian Air Defenses Intercept Hundreds of Ukrainian Drones
Russian air defenses destroyed 370 Ukrainian drones and a guided bomb in 24 hours, with dozens more UAVs intercepted across multiple Russian regions.
Russian air defense systems delivered a striking result over the past 24 hours, intercepting and destroying 370 fixed-wing drones and one guided aerial bomb launched by the Ukrainian armed forces. The figures were released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the ministry’s update, both the guided bomb and the full batch of drones were neutralized by air defense units.
The report also summarized cumulative results since the start of the special military operation. Over this period, Russian forces are said to have destroyed more than 105,000 unmanned aerial vehicles, nearly 27,000 tanks and armored vehicles, along with tens of thousands of artillery systems and other specialized military equipment.
Earlier, the Defense Ministry detailed the repelling of another drone attack targeting Russian regions. During the night of December 28, air defense systems shot down 25 UAVs. Twelve were intercepted over Samara Region, three each over Belgorod, Kursk, and Saratov Regions, and two drones apiece were destroyed over Volgograd and Rostov Regions.
A separate wave of interceptions was reported on December 27, when between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Moscow time, Russian air defense forces downed 43 Ukrainian drones.
