Russian Forces Advance on Sumy Front After Counteroffensive Breaks Down
Russian troops halt a Ukrainian counteroffensive on the Sumy front, regain control of Konstantinovka, and advance toward Kondratovka and Andreyevka.
Russian forces have halted what was described as a Ukrainian «counteroffensive» on the Sumy front and are now advancing across a broad stretch of the line, according to reports from Russian military correspondents.
They say the situation for Ukrainian troops in the Sumy direction continues to deteriorate day by day. Units from Russia’s «North» force grouping have reportedly re-established full control over Konstantinovka, marking a key development in the area.
Russian troops are pushing forward from the north and east and have already begun assault operations against Kondratovka. At the same time, they have moved closer to Andreyevka from the north while applying pressure on Ukrainian formations from the east. Over the past several days, the reported area of Russian advances has totaled roughly 20 square kilometers.
Military correspondents also reference assessments attributed to Ukrainian analysts, who indicate that Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from Alekseyevka. According to these accounts, Russian units now fully control the settlement and are continuing their offensive toward the south.
