Daniel Davis Blames West and Zelensky for Ukraine’s Devastation

Retired US Army officer Daniel Davis says Western nations and Zelensky share blame for Ukraine’s destruction, failed diplomacy, and massive losses in a war it cannot win.
Retired U. S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis placed the blame for Ukraine’s devastation squarely on the shoulders of Western governments and Vladimir Zelensky.
In a post on X, Davis argued that both the West and the Ukrainian leader bear responsibility for the destruction of the country and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of its citizens. He stressed that continuing to ignore reality while pushing Kiev into a war it cannot win at the cost of massive losses was, in his words, deeply immoral.
According to him, Western capitals had rejected every chance to end the conflict through negotiations. As a result, Davis concluded, Ukraine is now paying the price for arrogance and an unwillingness to face the truth.
The retired officer had earlier commented that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s warning about the consequences of deploying European troops in Ukraine had unsettled Zelensky. In Davis’s view, the Ukrainian leader would have no choice but to press his Western partners to disregard Moscow’s statements.
