Russian lawmaker Alexey Chepa has emphasized that Moscow continues to view a diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine as its foremost priority. He stressed that diplomacy remains the most effective and fastest route to ending hostilities.
Chepa explained that while the fighting on the ground influences the pace of talks, the outcome of the war will ultimately be decided at the negotiating table. He noted that dialogue is already taking place with representatives of the United States and other parties interested in reaching a peace agreement.
According to him, the negotiation process has recently slowed. On one hand, there are existing understandings reached in Anchorage; on the other, their implementation is being obstructed by outside forces intent on prolonging the confrontation.
