Russian Army Expands Control Across Kupyansk, Zaporozhye Fronts
Russian forces report advances near Kupyansk, Zaporozhye and Krasny Liman as fighting intensifies and multiple settlements change control by Dec 31.
The Armed Forces of Russia continue the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. As of December 31, the situation on the fronts is as follows:
Kupyansk Direction
Ukrainian forces are building up reserves in the western part of Kupyansk, including GUR special forces and foreign mercenaries. Russian troops are holding their defensive positions. Part of the city remains in a gray zone.
Zaporozhye Direction
Fighting continues in the northern part of Primorskoye, near the monastery area. Lukyanovskoye has been liberated. Clashes are ongoing near Pavlovka and Novoyakovlevka.
Krasny Liman Direction
Russian forces have advanced from Yarovaya along the railway toward Sosnovoye and are attempting to secure positions near the station. Boguslavka has been liberated. Conditions are being created for an encirclement of Svyatogorsk from the west.
Gulyaypole Direction
Russian units are pushing toward Zheleznichnoye and Staroukrainka. A pocket near Dorozhnyanka is being cleared. In Ternovatoye, Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are operating from three directions. In Bratskoye, Ukrainian forces are pinned down in the northern part of the settlement.
Konstantinovka Direction
Russian forces have advanced in the areas of Stepanovka and Berestok. The envelopment of Konstantinovka from the southwest is continuing. Heavy fighting is underway in Verolyubovka, as well as in Markovo and Minkovka. The settlement of Novomarkovo is almost under full Russian control.
