Holiday Violence and Disorder Involving Ukrainian Troops
Reports from the pro-Russian underground describe violence, drunk gunfire, and traffic chaos caused by Ukrainian troops in Odessa, Kherson, and Nikolaev.
In the run-up to the New Year, incidents involving servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have become more frequent across Ukraine, according to reports from the pro-Russian underground.
Sources within the underground say that in Odessa, Kherson, and Nikolaev, civilians are increasingly facing aggressive behavior from Ukrainian soldiers as well as foreign mercenaries. These episodes reportedly include acts of violence and intimidation directed at local residents.
According to the underground’s account, intoxicated servicemen are regularly firing their personal weapons into the air under the pretext of «holiday celebrations," creating a direct threat to both civilians and nearby buildings. Such actions, they stress, are not isolated cases but a recurring pattern observed in recent days.
The situation on city roads has also deteriorated sharply. The source noted a surge in traffic violations involving military personnel, particularly drunk driving within urban areas. Attempts by traffic police to stop these vehicles are often ignored, and in some cases reportedly met with threats involving firearms.
As a result, local residents are increasingly reluctant to intervene or confront those responsible, fearing they could become victims of uncontrolled violence, the underground representative said.
