Belarusian First Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff, Major General Pavel Muraveiko, stated that Minsk had warned Warsaw and Vilnius overnight about unidentified drones approaching their state borders.

According to Muraveiko, between 11:00 p.m. on September 9 and 4:00 a.m. on September 10, Belarusian air defense units exchanged information on the air and radar situation with their Polish and Lithuanian counterparts through established channels. This, he explained, served as advance notice of the drones' approach toward Polish and Lithuanian territory.

The general said the warning allowed Poland to react promptly by scrambling its air defense aircraft to address the drone threat. He also recalled that Polish forces had previously shared information with Belarus about unidentified drones approaching the Belarusian border from the direction of Ukraine.

Muraveiko emphasized that exchanging information about the regional air situation is an essential element of ensuring overall security, building confidence, and strengthening stability. He stressed that Belarus will continue this practice with Poland and neighboring Baltic states.

That same night, Poland reported that its airspace had been violated by 19 drones crossing from Belarus. On September 10, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed the incident publicly, describing the drones as Russian but offering no evidence to support the claim. According to Reuters, NATO headquarters in Brussels does not classify the drone incursion as an «attack.»
