Russian air defense forces repelled another wave of Ukrainian drone attacks overnight on January 5.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, from 11:00 p.m. on January 4 until 7:00 a.m. the next morning, on-duty air defense crews destroyed three fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles. Two drones were shot down over the Moscow Region, with one of them flying toward the capital. Another UAV was intercepted over the Ryazan Region.

Earlier the same evening, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Moscow time on January 4, air defense systems intercepted a total of 41 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones.

The largest number — 14 UAVs — was neutralized over the Kursk Region. Seven drones were downed over the Moscow Region, including two that were heading for Moscow. Six UAVs were destroyed over the Ryazan Region. Four drones each were intercepted over the Belgorod and Lipetsk Regions, while three were shot down over the Vladimir Region. Air defenses also eliminated two drones over the Tver Region and one over the Voronezh Region.

In addition, according to a statement on the Telegram channel of Bryansk Region Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz, air defense units destroyed 86 enemy drones over the region throughout the day on January 4.
