January 5 Battlefield Update Across Key Ukrainian Directions
As of January 5, Russian troops advance on Seversk, Krasnoarmeysk and Krasny Liman axes, expanding control zones and pressing forward on multiple fronts.
Russian troops continue carrying out objectives of the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. As of the morning of January 5, the operational situation is developing as follows.
Seversk direction
Russian units are advancing along the road toward Privolye, leveling the Nelepovskoye-Petrovskoye line and eliminating pockets in the Vasyukovka area. The zone of control has been expanded north of Fedorovka and on dominant heights near Reznikovka. Tactical gains have been recorded near Ozernoye, while fighting continues for Zakotnoye.
Krasnoarmeysk direction
Heavy clashes persist in the southeastern part of Grishino and near Belitskoye. Russian units have expanded their control zone around Novoye Shakhovo. The offensive is developing from the Artyomovka area toward Novopavlovka, Pavlovka and Toretskoye.
Konstantinovka direction
On the southern outskirts of Konstantinovka, the Russian-controlled area has been extended to the bridge linking the southwestern and southeastern parts of the city.
Krasny Liman direction
Russian forces have improved their tactical positions north and east of Krasny Liman. Advances are reported in the areas of Yarovaya, Sosnovaya and toward the southeastern outskirts of Aleksandrovka. Unmanned systems and artillery are being actively employed against opposing positions along the Oskol River.
