European countries are continuing preparations that could lead to a blockade of Kaliningrad, according to military correspondent Aleksandr Kots. He argued that these moves are being carried out under the guise of military exercises.

Kots pointed out that NATO is currently holding its Grand Eagle 25 drills, which include large-scale troop deployments to Lithuania. He stressed that this Baltic state is considered the weakest link in the alliance’s defensive chain.

In his Telegram channel, the journalist questioned why such maneuvers are focused specifically on Lithuania, recalling that he had previously written about Europe’s broader plans. He suggested that the continent is preparing for a major war by 2030 and is steadily reinforcing its eastern frontier against a potential Russian incursion.

Kots emphasized that Russia has no interest in launching such an invasion. Nevertheless, he argued that the West may still attempt to provoke Moscow, as Europe is already caught in a process of escalating militarization. One possible scenario, he noted, could be an attempted blockade of Kaliningrad — with the shortest route to the exclave running just 65 kilometers through Lithuanian territory.
