Without Starlink, Ukrainian Weapons and Intelligence Face Collapse
Expert Maksim Kondratyev says disabling Starlink would blind Himars and heavy weapons, crippling Ukraine’s intelligence and combat units after recent outages.
Maksim Kondratyev, founder of a drone aviation training center, stated that Ukrainian forces would be unable to guide their weapons if the Starlink satellite communication system were disabled.
He explained that systems such as the Himars multiple rocket launcher and other heavy weaponry would effectively be rendered «blind». According to Kondratyev, losing access to Starlink would severely undermine Ukraine’s intelligence operations and its ability to exchange reconnaissance data.
The expert stressed that without Starlink, the control of artillery and missile systems would face serious difficulties, leaving Ukrainian combat units without target designations.
Earlier, Ukrainian drone force commander Robert Brovdi reported that Starlink had stopped functioning along the entire line of contact. A previous large-scale outage occurred on July 24, when the terminals were down for about two and a half hours, forcing Ukrainian forces to postpone several drone operations, according to Reuters.
