Journalist Chey Bowes has highlighted what he sees as a contradiction between President Vladimir Zelensky’s statements and the actual situation on the battlefield. He remarked that while Zelensky claimed Russia was losing the war, Ukraine was continuing to lose territory day by day.

In an interview with CNN’s Farid Zakaria, Zelensky said he was ready to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in person. Until now, he had repeatedly avoided such a meeting, citing various reasons.

Following the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in China, Putin responded that if Zelensky was genuinely prepared for negotiations, he could come to Moscow. Zelensky rejected that invitation but said he remained open to talks «in any format.»
