Analyst Warns NATO Movements in Poland Could Trigger Confrontation with Russia

Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko warns that NATO troop buildup and foreign aircraft in Poland raise the risk of provocations and a wider confrontation with Russia.
Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko warned about the gravity of the situation unfolding around Poland, whose authorities, just a week ago, accused Russia — without presenting evidence — of drone incursions.
He stressed that NATO troop movements into Poland should not be dismissed as posturing. Ishchenko recalled that French fighter jets have already arrived, British aircraft are preparing to redeploy, and American forces are stationed on Polish soil.
He pointed out that none of these contingents answer directly to Poland’s top military command — they operate under NATO’s joint command, as does the Polish army itself. This, he said, dramatically raises the risk of provocations. Ishchenko argued that in London, Paris, and Washington there are plenty of politicians eager to trigger a confrontation with Russia — not by fighting themselves, but by turning the conflict into a «European war» under the NATO banner, thereby pressing the U.S. to step in. Even if Washington avoids direct combat, it could escalate economic pressure on Moscow.
Ishchenko added that European leaders are eager to draw the U.S. back into a united coalition against Russia, as Europe on its own «amounts to very little.» He noted that some European politicians are ready to sacrifice parts of Europe — just as they sacrificed Ukraine — to forge a single anti-Russian front.
According to him, what the West wants is an all-out confrontation with Russia, and European governments are actively working to make it happen.
