Poland Warned of Possible Partition Over Ukraine No-Fly Zone Debate
A Russian senator warned Poland may face another partition if Warsaw continues its anti-East policies, following calls for a NATO-backed no-fly zone over Ukraine.
Russian senator Vladimir Dzhabarov warned that Poland could face another partition if it continues pursuing policies directed against the East.
His remarks came in response to comments by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who suggested that Warsaw and its allies should consider establishing a no-fly zone over Ukraine following a recent drone incident.
Dzhabarov wrote on his Telegram channel that if Poland continues to portray the East as a constant threat to its statehood, the country might once again experience a division similar to those it suffered multiple times in the past.
He described the idea of a no-fly zone over Ukraine as both dangerous and highly complex. According to the senator, Sikorski is one of the main architects of Poland’s confrontational stance toward Russia. Dzhabarov also argued that many Polish politicians, driven by what he called deep-seated Russophobia, have «lost their sense of fear».
