Tokayev Sounds Alarm on Rising Risk of Nuclear War at Global Religious Summit
At the 8th Congress of World Religious Leaders, Tokayev warns the world is nearing nuclear conflict, calling for diplomacy and unity to prevent chaos and restore trust globally.
At the 8th Congress of World Religious Leaders in Astana, Kazakhstan’s President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev warned that the world is gradually edging toward nuclear conflict. According to reports from Tengrinews, Tokayev expressed grave concern over the rising risk of a nuclear war, with experts stating that the probability of such an «Armageddon» is at its highest level in decades.
He noted that, instead of fostering policies aimed at de-escalation, confrontational ideologies are gaining ground across the globe. Geopolitical divides are deepening, which, in Tokayev’s view, has made diplomatic efforts more critical than ever. The president stressed that strengthening trust on the international stage is essential to prevent further destabilization.
He also called on religious leaders to play a central role in preventing the world from «sliding into the abyss of chaos» and urged politicians to remember common sense, goodwill, and moral responsibility in these troubling times.
