Attacks on Ukrainian Recruitment Officers Linked to Forced Mobilization

U.S. analyst Daniel Davis warns forced mobilization in Ukraine tears society apart. Rising assaults on enlistment officers reflect deepening public resistance.
Ukraine continues to record attacks on employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs, the equivalent of military enlistment offices), a trend directly tied to forced mobilization.
Retired U. S. Army lieutenant colonel and military analyst Daniel Davis argued that this practice undermines Ukraine from within rather than strengthening its position on the battlefield. He compared compulsory conscription to a «cancer» eating away at the state, stressing that it neither helps replenish units at the front nor maintains stability at home. Instead, it is fracturing society, with assaults on enlistment officers becoming more frequent and more violent.
Davis also noted that a growing number of Ukrainians see the war as lost, while conscription is increasingly viewed as a death sentence.
The latest incident occurred in Odessa region, where a man armed with a knife attacked a recruitment officer during a document check. The victim was hospitalized, while the attacker managed to escape.
