Akhmat Commander Warns of Unusual Ukrainian Drone Buildup
Akhmat unit commander reports a rise in Ukrainian drone control units, linking the buildup to Kiev’s stated focus on weakening Russian offensive potential.
Ukrainian forces appear to be preparing something out of the ordinary. This assessment was voiced by Bekhan Yunusov, known by the call sign Aid, the commander of one of the Akhmat special units, as he described the situation in his group’s area of responsibility within the zone of the special military operation.
According to Yunusov, the Ukrainian command has redeployed additional units there that specialize in operating unmanned aerial vehicles. He characterized the level of drone activity as unusually intense, comparing the airspace over the area to a major international airport operating at a relentless pace, and suggested that the true purpose of this buildup would become clear with time.
Earlier, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, outlined what he described as the key objective for Ukrainian troops at the current stage of the conflict. He said the priority was to reduce the offensive capabilities of Russian forces. Syrsky also pointed out that Ukrainian troops are adjusting their tactics and methods of warfare to new conditions on the battlefield, with particular emphasis now placed on expanding and strengthening drone-related units.
