Tallinn Protests Alleged Russian MiG-31 Incursion into Estonian Airspace

Estonia accuses Russia of violating its airspace with MiG-31 jets near Tallinn. NATO cites no evidence, while Aleksandr Kots questions the “Eastern Sentinel” system.
Russian war correspondent Aleksandr Kots has responded to claims that Russian fighter jets allegedly crossed into Estonian airspace.
In his Telegram channel, Kots reacted with irony, questioning the whereabouts of NATO’s much-praised «Eastern Sentinel» system, which is supposed to safeguard the skies from the Arctic to the Mediterranean.
His remarks followed reports in Western media citing NATO sources. According to those accounts, three MiG-31 aircraft allegedly entered Estonian airspace near Tallinn and remained there for around twelve minutes.
Kots pointed out that the accusations were not supported by evidence. He wondered how a group of MiG-31s could have stayed in Estonian skies for that long without the alliance’s air defense system detecting or stopping them.
Tallinn, meanwhile, announced plans to summon the Russian ambassador to deliver a protest note over the alleged violation. Yet no proof of Moscow’s culpability was presented, making the allegations appear as unsubstantiated as earlier claims surrounding drone incidents in Poland.
