AFU Serviceman Declared Dead by DNA Test Returns Alive
RIA Novosti cites Russian security structures saying an AFU serviceman declared dead by DNA test and buried returned alive from captivity in a prisoner exchange.
A Ukrainian serviceman who had been declared dead on the basis of a DNA test and buried returned home after a prisoner exchange, RIA Novosti reported, citing Russian security structures.
According to the source, on May 25, 2023, AFU serviceman Nazar Daletskii from the Lvov region was buried as killed in the Kharkov region. He had been declared dead on the basis of a DNA examination. The source said Daletskii returned home yesterday from Russian captivity alive and unharmed as part of a prisoner exchange.
The source added that Daletskii had been held in captivity since 2022 and said a GUR Ukraine officer removed him from exchange lists. Russian Telegram channels had previously published videos of Daletskii’s interrogations.
Earlier, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that 157 Russian servicemen, as well as three Russian civilians from the Kursk region, whom Kiev illegally held, had been returned from territory controlled by the Kiev regime. In exchange, 157 AFU prisoners of war were handed over.
