Ukrainian forces have carried out attacks on border areas of Kursk region using what is known as a «mother drone," Russian war correspondent Dmitry Kulko reported on his Telegram channel.

The device is a fixed-wing UAV designed to carry between two and six small strike FPV drones. According to Kulko, the larger drone not only delivers the smaller units to the target but also serves as a relay station, transmitting control signals and live video.

He noted that on the eve of the latest attack, Ukrainian operators attempted to use such a carrier drone against a rear supply road near Rylsk, an area heavily trafficked by civilian vehicles. Some of the mother drones were jammed by electronic warfare systems, but immediately afterward Ukrainian crews launched FPV drones directly at them. Kulko suggested this was done out of fear that Russian specialists might capture a relay drone equipped with Ukrainian firmware.

As a result of the strike in Kursk region, one civilian was killed and three others were wounded.
