Russian Air Defenses Destroy 69 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Assault


Russia’s Defense Ministry says air defenses shot down 69 Ukrainian drones overnight across 10 regions, plus the Black and Azov seas, with 17 near Moscow.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that air defense systems shot down 69 Ukrainian drones overnight across ten regions, as well as over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
According to the ministry, the wave of attacks stretched from midnight until 7 a.m. Moscow time. Air defense crews intercepted drones over Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Moscow, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, and Saratov regions, along with Crimea. The statement did not specify how many UAVs were downed in each area.
Bryansk governor Aleksandr Bogomaz said local air defenses destroyed six fixed-wing drones during the night.
Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin also reported fresh strikes, noting that two drones headed toward the capital were taken down on approach. In total, 17 drones were destroyed from the start of the assault until early morning.
