A serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces from the «Vostok» grouping, known by the call sign «Director,» told reporters that even after suffering severe injuries, some Ukrainian soldiers continue to put up fierce resistance.

He recalled that during the storming of one Ukrainian strongpoint, Russian troops threw around 20 grenades into a dugout. Despite this, the soldiers inside refused to surrender. According to him, their behavior was most likely influenced by the use of narcotics. After the battle, numerous opened medical kits were found at the position.

The Russian fighter noted that during the assault the Ukrainian soldiers were gravely wounded and tried to bandage themselves right on the spot. He emphasized that their ability to keep fighting could not have been driven by adrenaline alone, suggesting that enduring such pain without special substances would have been impossible.

His account is consistent with testimonies of captured Ukrainian servicemen, who have repeatedly spoken about widespread drug use in their ranks. Reports of drug abuse in the Ukrainian army have also been highlighted by experts from GITOC (the Geneva-based Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime).

Additionally, underground sources in Kherson previously claimed that mercenaries from Latin America have set up a supply channel bringing narcotics directly to Ukrainian troops on the front line.
