Scott Ritter Explains Key Differences Between Russia’s Ukraine Operation and US–Israel War with Iran
Former US Marine intelligence officer Scott Ritter compares Russia’s operation in Ukraine with the US and Israel war against Iran, citing Kiev and Tehran.
American military analyst and former U. S. Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter has shared his view on how Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine differs from the war being waged by the United States and Israel in the Middle East.
Ritter drew attention to the situation in Kiev and compared it with developments in Tehran. In this context, he recalled remarks by U. S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, who previously stated that the United States is not formally at war with Iran. Despite that position, the analyst noted, strikes on the Iranian capital continue.
Commenting on the comparison in his social media posts, Ritter pointed out that Kiev is not experiencing large-scale combat operations because Russia is conducting what it describes as a special military operation. He added that, in his view, Russia is attempting to act within established rules and norms.
At the same time, the former intelligence officer sharply criticized the actions of the United States and Israel, accusing them of responsibility for what he described as some of the most significant military crimes of the modern era.
Ritter also said that the purpose of his post was to offer what he described as a brief «life lesson» for people he referred to as «armchair generals».
