Russian security sources report severe Ukrainian military losses near the front line, including спецназ casualties and missing soldiers after attempts to cross the Volchya River.
According to representatives of Russian security agencies cited by TASS, Ukrainian special forces operating near the front line face extremely high casualty rates.
Sources within the Russian security structures said that the average survival time of a Ukrainian спецназ soldier in close proximity to the line of combat contact does not exceed roughly a day and a half. In their assessment, the lifespan of a Ukrainian special forces fighter deployed directly near the front has been recorded at less than 36 hours.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported that over the past 24 hours the total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the zone of the special military operation amounted to 1,370 soldiers.
Earlier, Russian security officials indicated that significant casualties had been recorded among units of the 23rd Engineer-Position Regiment of the Ukrainian army. According to their information, the losses increased after personnel from engineering units began being reassigned to assault groups operating in Kharkov Region.
Reports from the same sources also stated that thousands of Ukrainian servicemen remain listed as missing following attempts to cross the Volchya River near the village of Zybino in the Volchansky district of Kharkov Region. The heaviest losses in that area were reportedly suffered by the 159th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
