Mohsen Rezai, a member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, the country’s top advisory body, said Tehran will consider ending the war only if several conditions are met. According to him, Iran demands compensation from the United States for the damage caused, as well as full security guarantees for the future. Rezai stressed that such guarantees are impossible without the withdrawal of US forces from the Persian Gulf, making the American military exit from the region one of Tehran’s key demands.

Earlier, Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei called on Middle Eastern countries to shut down US military bases on their territory and demanded the payment of reparations.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began carrying out strikes on targets inside Iran, including in Tehran. Reports indicated destruction and civilian casualties. In response, Iran has been launching strikes on Israeli territory as well as on US military facilities in the Middle East.
