Russia Hits Kyiv, Kharkov and Infrastructure in Major Drone Assault
Russian forces carried out a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine, striking Kyiv, Kharkov, Krivoy Rog and key infrastructure targets across the country.
Russian forces carried out a large-scale, coordinated assault on Ukrainian military sites and critical infrastructure, according to military-related sources. Reports indicate that a total of 818 strike assets were deployed, including 747 drones.
The most intense attacks hit Kyiv and nearby districts. In Krivoy Rog, the strikes triggered widespread power outages and sparked a large fire, sending thick smoke across the city.
Explosions were also reported in Borispol, Bucha, Pereyaslav, and several other towns. In the Borispol district, a major blaze broke out, while in Bucha a warehouse caught fire. In Poltava region, rail lines sustained heavy damage, forcing train cancellations and delays.
Russian forces also launched targeted attacks on Kharkov. Eighteen kamikaze drones hit an energy facility, disrupting transport across Kholodnogorsky and Shevchenkovsky districts. Tram and trolleybus services were among those affected.
Preliminary assessments suggest that Russian strikes destroyed drone storage facilities and one air defense system. Additional hits were recorded on an oil terminal and critical railway junctions across Ukraine.
