After high-level talks with representatives from the European Union and the United States on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Andriy Yermak, made it clear that Kyiv will not recognize the current front line as the border with Russia once the war ends. He noted that during discussions with Western partners, positions were voiced «with absolute clarity.»

Yermak stressed that a lasting and secure peace could only be achieved if Ukraine is directly involved in negotiations, with full respect for its sovereignty. He underlined that while a ceasefire is necessary, it cannot be equated to fixing the front line as a permanent border.

In his Telegram post, Yermak emphasized that Western backing for Ukraine goes beyond words. According to him, partners expressed readiness to continue financial and military assistance, as well as to maintain sanctions pressure on Russia until the hostilities are over. He also expressed gratitude to those who took part in the talks, noting what he described as a «highly constructive approach» from all sides.
