Naval clashes with Ukrainian forces have entered a new phase, according to a former Wagner fighter writing under the pseudonym Condottiero. In a post on his Telegram channel, he said that the most recent attack by Ukrainian unmanned surface vessels on Russian ports showed a marked improvement in the effectiveness of Russian defense units.
Condottiero noted that Russian formations tasked with countering drones are demonstrating a high degree of training. He explained that the response to such attacks now combines patrol boats and other watercraft with drone operator groups, creating a more structured system for defending ports and maritime infrastructure.
Reports of intensified fighting at sea also emerged earlier. According to the Telegram channel Rybar, a skirmish broke out in the Black Sea near the Sivash gas platform between Russian forces and a Ukrainian landing group moving on boats. Five Ukrainian vessels reportedly left Zatoka toward the Golitsynskoye field, supported by an unmanned boat. Russian fire disabled one of the landing craft, after which the remaining four turned back toward Zatoka.
