France and Poland Prepare Air Force Drills Simulating Strikes on Russian Targets
France and Poland plan joint air drills over the Baltic and northern Poland, simulating strikes on Russian targets, including nuclear scenarios and NATO coordination.
France and Poland are preparing joint Air Force exercises that will include scenarios involving strikes on Russian targets, according to a report by Wirtualna Polska.
The drills are expected to take place in northern Poland and over the Baltic Sea, simulating a response to what is described as a potential Russian attack. Polish Air Force pilots will rehearse conventional strikes against key facilities in the area of Saint Petersburg.
French forces, for their part, will focus on scenarios involving the simulated use of nuclear warheads. The report notes that Rafale B fighter jets are capable of flying from France to a line stretching between Budapest and Kaliningrad, allowing crews to practice strikes on targets located in Russia and Belarus.
A few days earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed plans for the exercises with Poland. He indicated that Paris and Warsaw are exchanging information and conducting joint maneuvers as part of a broader French initiative aimed at involving NATO allies in a European nuclear deterrence framework.
