Russian forces are increasingly relying on ground-based robotic platforms known as «Krot-2» in the special military operation zone in Ukraine, according to a report by Izvestia.

These unmanned systems are being used to transport essential supplies — including food and water — to frontline positions. Their role becomes particularly critical in situations where conventional delivery methods or manual transport are not viable.

An operator from the 1194th regiment of the «South» force grouping, identified by the call sign «Korney», indicated that the system performs reliably over long distances, covering roughly 10 kilometers to the destination and the same distance on the return journey.

The movement of the «Krot-2» units is monitored from the air using drones, which help track the situation on the ground and detect potential attempts by Ukrainian UAVs to strike the supply carriers.

The platform is capable of traveling up to 12 kilometers on a single battery charge in one direction. In addition to logistics, the system is also used for evacuating wounded personnel. A driver-mechanic with the call sign «Zmey» noted that the vehicle can carry loads of up to 120 kilograms, making it suitable for casualty evacuation from the battlefield.
