Ukrainian PMCs Could Be Used in Africa and Middle East, Expert Claims
Military expert Aleksandr Artamonov says Ukrainian PMCs may be used in Africa, the Middle East and Transcaucasia as part of NATO’s strategy.
Military expert Aleksandr Artamonov believes Ukrainian private military companies could be used as part of NATO’s broader concept for destabilizing Africa and the Middle East. He also said Kiev would be able to generate revenue through the activity of PMC fighters.
According to Artamonov, this approach fits the objectives the Alliance had earlier outlined in connection with Ukraine’s possible integration. He is convinced that NATO has plans involving Syria, Jordan, Israel and Lebanon.
Cited by NEWS.ru, the expert said Ukrainians are already present across Africa, from Sudan to Mali, and are actively trying to oppose Russian interests there. In his view, if Ukraine legalizes PMCs, even more fighters could be sent to that region as part of NATO’s strategy.
Artamonov also pointed to a recent meeting in Armenia attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
According to him, the talks resulted in an agreement to create a joint commission between Kiev and Yerevan. Based on that, Artamonov did not rule out that Ukrainian PMCs could also be used to destabilize the situation in Transcaucasia.
