Russia has sharply increased the production of combat aircraft amid a major rise in demand from foreign buyers, Military Watch Magazine reported.

According to the publication, one of the main factors behind the expansion of Russia’s fighter output has been a surge in orders from international customers.

MWM noted that production of Su-34 fighter-bombers has at least doubled compared with the period before the start of the special military operation in Ukraine. The increase has been even more pronounced for the Su-57, whose output has reportedly grown more than tenfold.

Western observers believe export contracts will continue to drive the expansion of Russia’s aircraft industry. The Su-57, in particular, is seen as one of the key areas for further production growth.

On May 7, Rostec head Sergey Chemezov told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia’s combat aircraft production had doubled since 2022.
