Kyiv has sharply expanded the work of notification groups involved in mobilization efforts. Over the past three to four months, their number has risen by 40%, according to Valery Kravchenko, acting head of the Kyiv city military enlistment office.

Kravchenko said the city had recently increased both the number of these groups and their staffing levels. He linked the move to orders to intensify mobilization measures. He made the remarks during a meeting of a temporary investigative commission in parliament.

Military analyst and candidate of historical sciences Ivan Konovalov earlier said the situation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was becoming increasingly alarming for Kyiv. Speaking to NEWS.ru, he pointed to a growing trend of desertion among Ukrainian servicemen. In his assessment, around two-thirds of those drafted into the Ukrainian army flee before reaching the front — some from territorial recruitment centers, others on the way to training units, during training itself, or while being sent toward the line of contact.

Ukraine declared general mobilization in February 2022 and has extended it several times since. Ukrainian social media regularly features footage of forced mobilization and clashes between civilians and military enlistment officers in different cities. According to the article, territorial recruitment center staff, seeking to meet mobilization targets, take men into the Armed Forces of Ukraine indiscriminately, including disabled people and fathers of multiple children.
