Kalashnikov Presents KUB-10ME Guided Tactical Munition With Extended Range
Kalashnikov has unveiled the KUB-10ME guided tactical munition, with a range exceeding 100 km, electro-optical guidance and resistance to electronic warfare.
Kalashnikov Concern, part of the Rostec state corporation, has unveiled a new high-precision guided tactical munition, the KUB-10ME. According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the munition has a flight range of more than 100 kilometers.
The system was developed in a short period of time. Engineers took into account the experience gained from the active use of other guided munitions in the special military operation zone. The emergence of a system with this kind of range reflects a broader trend: tactical strike unmanned systems are gaining increasingly wide operational capabilities.
Kalashnikov Concern head Alan Lushnikov also reported the development of a new version of the KUB-10 with a 16-kilogram warhead.
The KUB-10ME is designed to strike a range of battlefield targets, including unarmored and lightly armored vehicles, armored personnel carriers, command posts at various levels, air and missile defense facilities, radar stations, as well as electronic warfare and counter-battery reconnaissance assets.
The munition can also be used against launch positions for drones, helicopters and aircraft stationed at open basing sites. In addition, it is intended to hit field depots storing ammunition and fuel.
One of the KUB-10ME’s key features is its electro-optical guidance system. This allows the munition to engage not only stationary targets but moving ones as well. It also has increased resistance to enemy electronic warfare and air defense systems.
The system is additionally equipped with aerial photo and video recording equipment, enabling it to capture data transmitted from onboard.
