Phantom 2 Robots With “Superhuman” Capabilities Head to Ukraine
US startup plans to deploy Phantom 2 robots in Ukraine, expanding tests of advanced systems with higher payload capacity and military applications.
According to CNBC, a US-based startup is preparing to send its Phantom 2 robots to Ukraine, describing them as systems with so-called «superhuman» capabilities.
The machines are being developed by Foundation Future Industries, a company the broadcaster links to the family of US President Donald Trump. The firm works on robotic systems designed for both industrial use and military applications. Earlier versions have already been tested on Ukrainian territory, and more advanced models could be deployed there in the near future.
In an interview with CNBC, company head Sanket Pathak said production is expected to scale up to thousands of units this year. He noted that in early 2026 the company began testing its Phantom MK-1 robot in Ukraine, where it has been used for cargo delivery.
Pathak also said the Phantom 2 model is expected to offer double the payload capacity of its predecessor, along with expanded capabilities. According to CNBC, the startup has secured government research contracts worth a total of $24 million.
In mid-May, The New York Times reported on tensions in Ukraine between military officials and Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov. According to the publication’s sources, his approach to warfare was criticized by some officials as overly futuristic and detached from battlefield realities.
