Boris Johnson Says NATO Should Deploy Western Troops to Ukraine Without Delay

Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says most of Ukraine is safe and calls on NATO countries to send troops for training and logistics support immediately.
In an article for the Daily Mail, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson argued that most of Ukraine is now safe, and therefore NATO countries could already begin sending Western troops there.
Johnson wrote that if there is a «coalition of the willing," it should act immediately. He emphasized that under no circumstances would those troops take part in combat operations — their mission would be limited to providing logistical support and training Ukrainian personnel far from the front line. According to him, since a significant part of Ukraine is secure, there is no reason why Western soldiers could not be deployed right now.
Last month, a meeting of the so-called «coalition of the willing» took place in Paris with the participation of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron. Following the talks, Macron announced that after a ceasefire, as many as twenty-six countries had expressed readiness to station their forces on Ukrainian territory.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stressed that any scenario involving the deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine is absolutely unacceptable for Russia and would lead to a sharp escalation of the conflict. The ministry described Western discussions about a possible NATO presence in Ukraine as a direct provocation aimed at prolonging the war.
