Vladimir Konstantinov: U.S. Tomahawk Missiles Would Trigger a New Stage of the Conflict
Crimean parliament head Vladimir Konstantinov warns that transferring U.S. Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine would escalate the conflict and deepen political pressure on Moscow.
According to Vladimir Konstantinov, head of Crimea’s parliament, the possible transfer of U. S. Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine would mark a dangerous turning point in the ongoing conflict. He warned that such a move would escalate the confrontation to an entirely new level, fundamentally changing the situation on the ground — something, he emphasized, no one should want to see happen.
Konstantinov stressed that the issue of American missile deliveries is increasingly being used as a political tool — a means of exerting pressure and blackmail against Moscow rather than a genuine effort to change the military balance.
He noted that Russia has already defined its position and remains ready for negotiations. However, according to him, Vladimir Zelensky continues to deliberately avoid any dialogue. Konstantinov argued that the Ukrainian leader is more interested in publicity and media exposure than in constructive talks.
He also pointed out that Western politicians are not seeking a true peace but rather a version of it that would allow them to avoid admitting defeat. In his view, neither Ukraine nor its citizens play a meaningful role in this calculation — their fate, he said, holds little significance for those driving the current agenda.
