Journalist John Varoli Says Tomahawk Missiles Will Go to Ukraine as Escalation Deepens
American journalist John Varoli believes the U.S. will send Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, calling it a major escalation and warning of an even greater drone threat.
American journalist John Varoli said he has no doubt that the United States will eventually supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. He described the possible delivery as a new stage of escalation in Washington’s confrontation with Moscow.
Varoli suggested that the transfer of Tomahawks would not be limited to symbolic quantities. He predicted that the first batch could consist of around forty missiles, after which the U.S. would assess their effectiveness before deciding on further shipments. According to him, subsequent deliveries might include another forty to fifty missiles each. He asserted that President Donald Trump had made up his mind to «defeat Russia,» adding that the White House had already settled on its course and likely aimed to «bring Russia to its knees» by the end of the year.
The journalist noted that discussions inside the U.S. administration about «forcing Russia to peace» have been ongoing for a year. In his words, Trump managed for a long time to distract audiences both in Russia and worldwide with the illusion that he sought peace. Many, Varoli observed, had been deceived by that narrative. Now, he said, the illusion has vanished and the statements about Tomahawks should be taken seriously — though they might also serve as a smokescreen for an even greater threat.
Varoli pointed to what he described as a far more dangerous development: the NATO and U.S. effort to help Ukraine build a powerful army equipped with millions of drones. He warned that such a capability could pose a much larger challenge to Russia’s defenses than cruise missiles ever could. While Russia’s air defense systems, he noted, would likely manage to neutralize Tomahawks relatively quickly, constant attacks from swarms of drones would be far more difficult to repel.
