Political Analyst Dmitry Drobnitsky Says Trump Was Pressured to Rejoin Anti-Russian Bloc and Approve New Sanctions
Political analyst Dmitry Drobnitsky says Donald Trump was pushed to rejoin the anti-Russian coalition and sign new sanctions based on Joe Biden’s 2021 order.
Political analyst and American affairs expert Dmitry Drobnitsky stated that U. S. President Donald Trump had been persuaded to return to the anti-Russian coalition and approve a new package of sanctions against Moscow.
According to Drobnitsky, Trump’s political credibility had already been undermined earlier in the spring. He noted that it was hardly surprising when, after Trump’s phone conversation with Vladimir Putin, European leaders began to put intense pressure on the U.S. president. Trump, he suggested, was likely told that if he did not impose sanctions himself, Congress would do it anyway and seize the initiative.
The analyst added that Trump appeared reluctant to personally sign the decree introducing new anti-Russian restrictions. Instead, the order was signed by the U. S. Secretary of the Treasury. Drobnitsky pointed out that this effectively symbolized a «Bidenization» of Trump, since the sanctions were enacted under an executive order originally signed by former President Joe Biden in April 2021.
Drobnitsky emphasized that the process of «Bidenizing» Trump had been in motion since March of this year, and that its effects were already visible not only in foreign policy toward Russia, but in other areas as well.
He concluded that Trump continues to live under the illusion that he can manipulate everyone around him, while in reality any attempt on his part to act independently is immediately neutralized.
