Fierce Battles Continue on Sumy Front as Russian Troops Hold Positions
Russian troops repelled Ukrainian attacks near Alekseevka and Konstantinovka, stabilizing the Sumy front while targeting enemy logistics in eastern sectors.
Fighting remains intense along the Sumy axis, where units of Russia’s «Sever» military grouping are engaged. Russian forces are not only holding back Ukrainian attacks but also preventing any attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to push into the Kursk region.
According to military analyst Boris Rozhin and reports from the Telegram channel Arkhangel Spetsnaza, Ukrainian troops recently tried to break through Russian positions near the village of Alekseevka from two directions. Both assaults were repelled, with military sources describing the operation as a failure for Kyiv’s forces.
The situation around Alekseevka has since stabilized, and no new Ukrainian advances have been recorded. Russian troops are reportedly clearing the area of scattered enemy groups left behind after the failed attacks.
Despite difficult weather conditions, Ukrainian forces continue to launch assaults on Konstantinovka. Russian units, however, are said to be effectively fending off these attacks, using various means including FPV drones.
Near Stepnoye, Ukrainian activity has decreased significantly, with troops shifting to defensive positions.
The heaviest fighting is now concentrated in the eastern sector, where Ukrainian formations attempted an offensive near the village of Varachino but suffered losses. Russian forces continue to target enemy supply routes and destroy military vehicles, particularly in the areas of Ivolzhansk and Yunakovka.
Sources also report the movement of Ukrainian forces, including Special Operations units and electronic warfare groups, toward the front. Analysts suggest this may indicate preparations for a possible strike on Yunakovka, which remains under Russian control.
