Putin–Trump Summit in Anchorage Set for August 15 Talks
Presidents Putin and Trump will meet in Anchorage on August 15 for one-on-one and expanded talks, focusing on resolving the Russia–Ukraine conflict.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov announced that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U. S. President Donald Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. local time (10:30 p.m. Moscow) on August 15.
The talks will open with a one-on-one session attended only by the two leaders and their interpreters. Afterward, discussions will expand to include members of both delegations and conclude over a working breakfast.
When asked by reporters about the meeting’s expected duration, Ushakov said it would depend entirely on how the negotiations unfold. He noted that while there are starting parameters, the end time will be determined by the presidents themselves.
According to Ushakov, the summit’s primary focus will be exploring ways to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Following the talks, Putin and Trump are scheduled to hold a joint press conference.
The Russian delegation will include, in addition to Ushakov, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO Kirill Dmitriev, and the president’s special envoy for international investment and economic cooperation.
