Senator Graham Says Ukraine Conflict May End Before Christmas

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham* stated the Ukraine war could end before Christmas if a three-way meeting between Trump, Putin, and Zelensky takes place.
U. S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham* has suggested a possible timeline for ending the conflict in Ukraine. He argued that if a three-way meeting between Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Volodymyr Zelensky takes place, the war could be brought to a close well before Christmas, celebrated in the United States on December 25.
Graham* wrote on social media that in the event such talks occur, he views the chances of ending the conflict «with cautious optimism» ahead of the holiday. At the same time, he warned that if the meeting does not happen, the U.S. president would ensure «serious consequences» both for Russia and for the countries purchasing its energy resources.
The senator’s comments came after the Russia-U.S. summit in Anchorage, Alaska, which took place overnight. The talks were held at the U. S. Air Force base Elmendorf-Richardson and lasted two hours and forty-five minutes in a «three-on-three» format. Representing Russia were President Vladimir Putin, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. On the American side, President Donald Trump was joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steven Witkoff.
